Project Highlights from Year Two
Over the past 12 months, JG Town Planning has continued to build on its first year, securing planning permissions on behalf of clients, progressing new applications and supporting clients across a diverse portfolio of projects.
23 Flats and Commercial Space – Resolution to Grant
A major milestone over the past year was securing a resolution to grant planning permission for a mixed-use development comprising 23 flats and a new medical centre in Islington. The scheme demonstrates our ability to navigate complex planning considerations and work with all stakeholders to ensure the best possible scheme was achieved for both the applicant, the Council and local community.
Commercial to Residential – 5 Flats
Permission was obtained for the conversion of a commercial unit into five residential flats. The proposal required careful consideration of design, amenity and policy compliance to ensure a high-quality residential development.
Residential Development – 9 Houses, Tandridge
A planning application has recently been submitted for a scheme of nine new houses in South Nutfield, Surrey. Following positive pre-application engagement with the Parish Council and Tandridge District Council, the proposed scheme delivers family housing in an area with a severe shortage of housing.
Strategic Land Promotion – Gedling Local Plan
Representations were made to the Gedling Local Plan Issues and Options consultation in respect of a site with capacity for approximately 50 units. This work supports the longer-term promotion of land through the plan-making process.
Office to Residential Conversion – 12 Flats
Planning permission was secured for the conversion of office space into 12 residential units in the London Borough of Barnet, contributing to housing delivery while making effective use of underutilised commercial floorspace.
Commercial Projects
Commercial Flexibility – Class E Use in Brent
An application was submitted to enable a commercial unit to operate across the full range of Class E uses, increasing flexibility and supporting the long-term viability of the space.
Certificate of Lawful Use – Commercial Space
A Certificate of Lawful Use was secured across a 60,000 sq ft commercial property, providing clarity and certainty on the lawful use of the site.
Looking Ahead
Year two has marked a transition from establishing the business to working on a range of projects on behalf of clients. With an increasing pipeline of projects and continued changes in the planning system, JG Town Planning is well placed for further growth in the year ahead.
